10 reasons to make nine wins a lock:

  1. WVU boasts the best center in the game and 6 players on that unit that have played significant minutes.  It always starts up front and WVU is ready to do just that.
  2. WVU's receiving corps has a Senior in the slot, that is simply Mr. Reliable and a solid if not downright explosive group of Wide Outs.
  3. WVU's signal caller now has an entire season of experience under his belt and is coming off an incredible performance in the Cactus Bowl.
  4. WVU returns a good RB and some very promising prospects to back him up.
  5. Dana is in a contract season.
  6. Gibby coaches the Defense.
  7. The Big XII has only one legitimate pre-season contender, Oklahoma.
  8. WVU has 5 Big XII home games.
  9. WVU will get Missou in a "rebuilding year."
  10. WVU will face BYU at a pseudo-home-game in DC.

It is for the aforementioned reasons that This blogger feels abundantly confident that WVU will have a very fun season and a solid bowl invite.

  1. Lots of swing games.

BYU, Kansas St, Texas Tech, Ok St, Texas, TCU are all going to be competitive. If Skylar can throw a crossing route, I think we win 9 (pre-bowl). If not, 6 or 7.

D is inexperienced, Big XII has the best QBs in the nation

  2. I shall try to give a "way to early" win loss prediction:

Missouri is a win. They have absolutely no offense. WVU should be able to figure out their D early enough in the game. If WVU can muster up 14 points they win. I see it being more like 35+ points as Missouri offense will press and turn it over.

Youngstown State is a win. (I wonder who Marshall fans will route for in this contest?) I see this as a stat magnate. Could be 50+ scored by Eers in this one.

BYU is definitely intriguing. I am calling it a W for the following reasons: 1. They have to travel West to East a couple of time zones. 2. This will be as said above a pseudo home game for Eers as DC has many alum to populate stadium. 3. I simply think that the offense will be clicking by game three.

K State is a tough call for me. We have yet to solve Coach Snyder riddle. KSU is down but that rarely means anything in this series. I am going go with a (light) win prediction.

Texas Tech I would say that if this game goes as I see it, expect a WVU Baylor circa first Season in Big XII type score. WVU comes up just short in a mega shootout.

TCU is a win. WVU bounces back in a big way and wins by a couple touchdowns.

Oklahoma State is more or less a clone of WVU in the recent past. It is almost like shall I say it, playing with yourself. This game is in Stillwater and that gives the nod to Cowboys. WVU comes up with its second Overtime loss in as many tries against OSU.

Kansas is well Kansas and WVU is in a rotten mood. WVU names its score and D pitches first shutout of the season.

Texas is a win. WVU catches Texas at a good time and Defense begins to click for first time. WVU wins by a field goal.

Oklahoma is more than just hype and comes into Morgantown undefeated. The leave Morgantown scratching their heads as WVU vaults back into conference conversation. WVU wins in same fashion they lost to the Sooners in Tavon's final year. This time they get the ball last and capitalize in a thriller for the ages.

Iowa State hopes to catch the Eers asleep at the wheel after the shocker in Motown and do make a game of it for 3 quarters but the Eers prove too much and leave Ames winners.

Baylor is a win as it just can't overcome WVU's O and its own internal turmoil. WVU wins by 16 and anxiously awaits its Big-time-bowl invite.

    10 wins it is.
